Stalactites

My best friend’s wife is Greek so I have quite a few share of my Greek food during my time in Melbourne (L.O.V.E her Greek Roast Chicken btw! Also oh God.. don’t make me start talking her dad’s lamb spit.. : D~~ ), so Greek food isn’t exactly a new territory for me.

Everyone who has been/lived to Melbourne surely know Stalactites, a well-known and busy 24 hours Greek restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD Greek Precint (right on the corner of Lonsdale and Russel Street). In the past I hadn’t had the chance to eat there (I know.. kill me.. 4 years in Melbourne and never eaten there before!), but since I’m now back here.. I’ll make sure I try new places that I haven’t been before. LOL!

This time I went there with Oki and Marco, and damn… 3 people party suck… had to wait 30 mins+ for a table! Should have ditched Marco LOL! (I’m just being mean here.. LOL!)

While we were queuing outside in cold weather (Yes, by know I admitted that I wanted to ditch Marco lol!), I had the chance to read a newspaper review about the restaurant. In the article, they showed some photos of Stalactite’s food and one of them caught my attention. It’s called “Katsiki Kapama”, pot roasted baby goat braised in white wine and served with cinnamon potatoes. I’m not usually the lamb/goat person, but somehow I could picture how tender the meat is on my head – maybe that’s because I was outside a little bit too long with an empty stomach :P

So.. why the restaurant is called Stalactites? Well.. there is a reason for that.. it’s because the restaurant’s ceiling is covered with “stalactites”
