The French Lettuce

After reading about The Herald Sun voted it has the best Vanilla Slice in Melbourne, of course I have the duty to try this out myself.

Here is the extract from the review:

Not cheap at $5, but this is more of a slab than a slice. The pastry and custard are light and delicate, with the perfect balance of crunch and cream making it easy to polish off the lot.

I would totally agree with those sentences. It’s pretty big for a slice so the price is worth it, and yes the pastry and custard are light and delicate.. It was smooth and not too sweet – just PERFECT to enjoy on a good afternoon or after dinner dessert. NYUMMM…. : D~~~

Saturday: St Kilda & Roast Chicken

Went to St Kilda specially for the most awesome “CHOCOLATE KOOGLHOUPF” cake by Monarch Cakes with Oki and Craig, but we had to get some lunch first.

Since I haven’t been to St Kilda often (yeah, I lived here for 4 years and I can count how many times I had been there with just one hand.. LOL!), we had to look around first. A theory that Oki suggested was: “Find a restaurant/cafe with a lot of Aussies eating, then it must be good”. Well, the hard bit was.. so many cafes/restaurants that were crowded LOL! But in the end, we sat down inside “Abbey Road” for lunch.

The meal was delicious, I had the Chilli Prawns Spaghetti – next time I wanna try the Angie’s Salad (minus the Cheese of course) as it sounds delicious inside my head. :)

Melbourne’s life is good

As some of you would have known by now, I’m now back in Melbourne – and being back here always feel good. I’m loving the lifestyle where it’s more relaxed and less people-drama…

It’s a good feeling when I can just stroll around in the city, walking down those small alleys filled with many cafes, walking through parks, laughing at people who queue for Zara (which recently opened in Melbourne), enjoying all the food I have missed, seeing my friends, ah.. Life is beautiful here. Well, at least it’s beautiful when you have the money to spend!

I’m still looking for a job which proven to be challenging than I would have expected. People who have a job right now, really should stop complaining how shitty their jobs are.. I mean.. I don’t have a job and it’s hard to get one.. And I need to earn money to support myself… :S

Well so far, I’ve been fortunate to be able to quite enjoy my free, no people hassling, quiet, no strings attached life in Melbourne. I’ve cooked few stuff, eaten at some of amazing places that I had missed while I was still in Indo – so yeah, life is pretty good.. :)
