Royal Melbourne Show 2011

Went to the Royal Melbourne Show with Craig, Candra, and his two new Frenchies acquaintances from StarBus – Romain and Alban.

The show itself was somewhat boring, but I think I managed to take some cool photos. I particularly like this photo of one of the rides (see first photo) – whatever it’s called LOL!

The weather was somewhat weird – sunny one minute then windy/cold the other, but then again it’s Melbourne’s weather???!? :)

Melbourne’s life is good

As some of you would have known by now, I’m now back in Melbourne – and being back here always feel good. I’m loving the lifestyle where it’s more relaxed and less people-drama…

It’s a good feeling when I can just stroll around in the city, walking down those small alleys filled with many cafes, walking through parks, laughing at people who queue for Zara (which recently opened in Melbourne), enjoying all the food I have missed, seeing my friends, ah.. Life is beautiful here. Well, at least it’s beautiful when you have the money to spend!

I’m still looking for a job which proven to be challenging than I would have expected. People who have a job right now, really should stop complaining how shitty their jobs are.. I mean.. I don’t have a job and it’s hard to get one.. And I need to earn money to support myself… :S

Well so far, I’ve been fortunate to be able to quite enjoy my free, no people hassling, quiet, no strings attached life in Melbourne. I’ve cooked few stuff, eaten at some of amazing places that I had missed while I was still in Indo – so yeah, life is pretty good.. :)

Bogor & Jakarta

After a night in Bandung, we continued our journey to Bogor. In Bogor, as usual my dad went to his long-time friend and stayed at his house.

My dad’s friend also took us to dinner at Rumah Air at BNR (Bogor Nirwana Residence). Rumah Air is a Sundanese restaurant and their concept is similar to Mak Engking in Tretes, Jawa Timur.

After spending the night at Bogor, we went to Jakarta in the morning to visit our customers and do other business stuff.

We stayed at Grand Hyatt, it was great and all but I honestly like Hotel Indonesia Kempinski more. Maybe because it’s new and I like the decor better.

I went out with Lyseander who also happened to be in Jakarta, and we went to Pacific Place to have dinner.

I had to wait for Lysean for an hour due to traffic jam.. Yes.. The traffic jam is a bitch in Jakarta.

So I decided to try the Almond cake at Huize van Wely. When the bill arrived, I almost had a heart attack – IDR 54000 for a slice of cake?!?!?!

Don’t get me wrong, the cake was awesomely great. I enjoyed every single bit of it, but the price was too much. Haha..

We had dinner at Y&Y – they use Wagyu beef for a lot of dishes there, even Sop Buntut (Oxtail soup).

Then after dinner, Lysean wanted to try the Pistachio ice-cream at the same place when I had my cake earlier.

I also tried the Strawberry Sorbet but it was too sweet and overall disappointing. It cost more than Haagen-Dazs! *nyesel!!!*

We took the train to return to Surabaya as we don’t like flying during rainy season. We arrived a little bit too early at the station, so we had to wait until the train arrived. They replaced the train with the older compartments because the new ones were under renovation. It was old, and very disgusting. Ugh… They shouldn’t had charged us the same price :(
