Recently I traveled to Tasikmalaya with my dad, my bro – Candra, one of my uncles, and two of my cousins. All of us were invited to Maggie’s wedding. Maggie is one of our tapioca flour supplier’s daughter.
Maggie and her parents showed us a very excellent hospitality during our two days in Tasik by providing a car and a driver for all of us, providing us hotel rooms and also arranging us to try a local cuisine (more on this later..). Therefore, it was our very pleasure to be able to share Maggie’s special day.
Maggie’s mum arranged a lunch for us at Mie Gunung Pereng – the most famous Noodle House in Tasikmalaya. I don’t know the exact address (you know me… as long as the driver takes me to the right place safely and comfortably – that’s all I care).
Apparently this little restaurant has been around since 1959 and they haven’t changed the way the cook their noodles – they use “Arang” instead of LPG (gas) because they are scared the LPG will blow up.
