I have lived here in Indo since the start of 2008, and up until now so many people asked me why did I came back when I have pretty much everything in Australia.
I have a house, I could get a job, and I have three great friends in Melbourne (that I miss even now!)…
My answer to them and to anyone who’s going to ask me in the future is still the same. In here, I can finally call my home, home.
Yes this country of mine is still fucked here and there, and our problems won’t be fixed overnight or anytime soon. I actually feel that I want to be a part of the people who will change the way our country works bits by bits. Maybe one day our country can be a country that I will be proud of – even though I won’t be able to see it I hope my children can.
In here, I have met with a lot of people some of which I’m very proud to call them friends. And for me, these people are the sum of my happiness and I’m very happy to be able to share my day when I turned a quarter-of-a-century years old with them.
Some of them even went an extra mile to make sure my day was a memorable one by pranking me on a local radio programme… Boy… That was an embarrassing moment….
A friend of mine said to me that I looked so happy unlike any other day. Yes I was so happy beyond words. I was happy that it was my birthday. I was happy that I got punked. I was happy that I could have dinner and went to karaoke with them. But most importantly I was happy to be able to celebrate my birthday surrounded by people who I call friends.
Thank you guys for making me felt special!
