This morning I listened to the preview of the Official Album for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
I have to say that I’m very impressed not only with the songs but also they way the Chinese seems to know the ways to make things grand by paying attention to little details.
As far as I can remember, the 2008 Olympic Games is probably the grandest and also the one with most meanings for everything (starting from the slogan, the mascots, the shape of the stadium for the opening ceremony, etc). I sincerely hope that it can also be the most successful Olympics ever, even though I personally feel that it can be hard to achieve as well.
Trying to imagine the traffic jam, the crowdedness, the dirtiness in Beijing during Olympics when before Olympics it’s like .. you know.. LOL! I better not continue LOL!
This time I am amazed by the music. One of the tracks of this 3-discs album is sung by different singers for each line! Imagine that!
I hope that they are singing this particular song at the opening ceremony with all the artists they recorded the song originally, it would be a DIFFERENT view seeing 20-ish famous Chinese singers on one stage singing one song.
BTW, isn’t Jay Chow from Taiwan? If he is, how come he recorded songs for this album? I thought the two “countries” are not in terms with each other? Is it safe to say that the Olympics actually brings people from these two “countries” together just like the 2008 Olympics slogan says: One World, One Dream? Interesting development….
