Hong Lou Si

This morning we had a school excursion to a place called Hong Lou Si (Red Snail Temple). There were like at least 6 buses going there from our university, so there were heaps and heaps of people.

It was a great idea to have an excursion, so this is definitely something that the university should do more often. haha…

However, I have to say that they could have picked a better place to visit. I’m not saying that the place we went to today is not good, in fact I actually really like the photos that were taken.

It’s just… there were too many steps… so it was more or less like a training session with a lot of other students. LOL!

Anyway, I can’t really write too much because I haven’t finished my homework.

Here are some photos from this afternoon:

Bei Hai Park & Hou Hai

This afternoon, 13 of us went to Beihai Park (Chinese: 北海公园; Pinyin: Běihăi Gōngyuán), an imperial garden northwest of the Forbidden City in Beijing.

It was initially built in the 10th century, and is a typical Chinese garden. Before the end of the Qing Dynasty in 1911, this area was part of the Forbidden City. However since 1925, it is open to the public.

The Park has an area of more than 700,000 m², with a water area that covers more than half of the entire Park.

Here are few shots taken this afternoon.

The last picture was taken in an area called Hou Hai, a place full of restaurants, cafes, and bars. There is a lake in the middle of the area called Hou Hai Lake. We went there to eat at a pizza parlour. It was somewhere on the corner, I don’t think I’ll be able to find it again myself. LOL! The pizza was nice though.. humm…

Louis Vuitton Cup 2007 Artimon

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my latest ba from Louis Vuitton. This bag is one of the limited edition bags from the Louis Vuitton Cup 2007 products line, which by the way has just been released today in China.

The name of this sporty, city bag echoes the seafaring world. It features ample storage space with several zippered pockets.

According to the SA who served me, there are only two of these babies in Beijing. That makes me one of the two proud owners of this Artimon Bag in Beijing! How exciting is that? :D

This bag is definitely the bag for this coming summer and it matches 100% perfectly with the Azur Conspiration GM sunglasses I have just bought.

For those of you who have never heard about Louis Vuitton Cup, here is a little bit of introduction of what Louis Vuitton Cup is about and also a little bit information about this year’s Louis Vuitton leather goods.

Since the very beginning, Louis Vuitton and the America’s Cup, the oldest sporting prize in the world, have shared the same values: A taste for excellence and accomplishment.

Since 1983, the Louis Vuitton Cup, comprised of a series of preliminary boat races, is the platform where teams compete to win the challenger spot in the America’s Cup. At the end of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the winner meets the defender at the America’s Cup.

At the 2003 America’s Cup, the Swiss “Alighi” won the Louis Vuitton Cup and beat the defender, “Team New Zealand”. The precious trophy came back to Europe after 152 years.

Since 2004, the Louis Vuitton Acts, have taken place in several European cities (Marseille-France, Valencia-Spain, Malmo-Sweden, Trapani-Italy). The 2007 edition of the Louis Vuitton Cup will take place in the Spannish city of Valencia.

For this occasion, Louis Vuitton has created an exclusive collections of leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, jewelry, and sunglasses.

This collection is a tribute to both the sailing world and a celebration of the house of Louis Vuitton. The “V” signature used on a variety of their products is inspired by the personal Steamer bag of Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the grandson of Louis Vuitton, back in 1901.

The leather goods products from the LV Cup collections bear many marks from the nautical universe:

  • The canvas “Louis Vuitton Cup” has a coated treatment which makes it waterproof and water-repellent.
  • The calf leather has been treated by hand with natural oils, which makes it resistant to water stains.
  • The lining is made of a technical coated fabric which reinforces the waterproof feature and the easy maintenance.
  • The metallic pieces and their rough look are inspired by the technical pieces used on sailing boats.
